If I Stay

Gayle Forman recently gave her fans some wonderful adaptation news, via her Tumblr site. The movie, which was originally set to be released by Summit Entertainment, has been passed on to a new studio, MGM (Metro Goldwyn Mayer). The film already has a director on board, R.J. Cutler, who is most known for his T.V series work, such as his recent hit Nashville. She also mentioned that they are in final negotiations with the lead actress, who will play Mia. She hinted that it will be Chloe Grace Moretz, who was rumored to be attached in January. Filming is set to begin this fall and Forman seems to be very excited about this go around, saying: “ This is the team we want to make this film. These guys are all amazing! The script is fantastic. Adam and Mia are going to make it to the screen in the way we want them to.”

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

A new trailer has been released of the upcoming “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” adaptation, which hits theaters this August. Check it out:

The Mortal Instruments

Some lucky writers from Hypable got to go to The Mortal Instruments party last week at Book Expo America (BEA), thrown by Simon & Schuster. At the party, props from the film were on display throughout the vicinity including the Mortal Cup, tarot cards, Isabelle Lightwood’s stele, Witchlights, and much more. Check out what they found:

However, they said the best part of the night was the bonus five minute clip party goers were treated to from Sony. Here’s an image from the clip:

Enders Game

Here’s a new image from the upcoming Ender’s Game set. The picture shows Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggin, hovering in zero gravity while Ford’s Colonel Graff stands just inside the gate, observing the young student, who may be trying to orient himself in the Battle Room.

Lionsgate

Lionsgate stock has risen to another all-time high, fueled by confidence on Wall Street that the movie mogul can replicate the success of the “Twilight” franchise and the first “Hunger Games” movie. Lionsgate has two potential franchise starters launching in the current fiscal year: Divergent, opening March 21st, and Ender’s Game, launching November 1st.

Divergent and Vampire Academy

Finally, the first film footage of Divergent was released at the Cannes Film Festival and everybody seems to be extremely excited about it! However, there’s no word or any leaks of the footage, so we’ll keep our eyes open for that! Also, Vampire Academy has officially started filming in London, so pictures of the set should be on the way very soon. =)
